FUNNY! SEXY! ACTION-PACKED!
Chicago 2064 Forecast the Past
A libertarian utopia of biofuels, legalized drugs, and casual sex. There hasn't been any violent crime in years.
Until now...
Talon Avalon is a Timecaster; a cop who is able to look back in time and view crimes that have already happened. But that was before he was framed by an alternate version of himself from another dimension. Now he's being hunted in this world, and countless parallel worlds, as the biggest mass-murderer in history.
While trying to save his kidnapped wife and clear his name, Talon must fight to prevent a series of mishaps that could destroy the multiverse, along with the very fabric of spacetime. He only has a few hours to save an infinity of humanity. All it will take is guts, his fists, some high tech weaponry, and enough strength and savvy to survive genetically mutated monsters, homicidal robots, a zombie apocalypse, and a plethora of erotic encounters.
Time is not on his side.
Featuring all of the action, thrills, and humor of other Konrath books, but set in an outrageous never-before-seen future, the Timecaster series is ecopunk on super steroids. Add in healthy doses of sex, some characters from Konrath's previous books (Talon is Jack Daniels's grandson), and a lot of outrageous ideas about technology, society, and politics, and Timecaster Supersymmetry is a book that will appeal to anyone who likes to be entertained, even if they don't dig on sci-fi.
If you are a more sensitive (or adventurous) reader, this handy scale rates specific categories from 1 (lowest) to 10 (highest) to give you some idea if this is your kind of book.

Timecaster Supersymmetry Insane SciFi Action! Book 2 eBook JA Konrath Jack Kilborn
I love when I'm reading a book that I look forward to getting back to. This was one such. I actually read the first book as part of a compilation and I enjoyed it so much I put the compilation on hold whilst I read the next in this series.Sure, parts are insane as the description states but it is also a very well developed futuristic world and society with many interesting components. The protagonist is likeable and fun.
This second book did have a few more mistakes than the first but nothing so egregious it deterred me.
Now, onto the third.
Highly recommended.

Timecaster Supersymmetry Insane SciFi Action! Book 2 eBook JA Konrath Jack Kilborn Reviews
What a sequel to Timecaster! This book has more of everything ridiculous fight scenes, crazy sex, talking dinosaurs...if you liked the first book, you will love this one.
You really need to have read the first book to understand what is going on; there isn't any handholding where Talon goes through a mental recap of everything you need to know. Familiarity with Joe Konrath's other books doesn't hurt either, as there are some surprise guest stars later in the story.
Timecaster Supersymmetry is a rollercoaster ride from beginning to end. Highly recommended.
I’m not good at leaving reviews. I don’t want to give anything away. I will say this book is damn good, plenty of action & a ton of laughs thrown in also. The author is quite twisted, I have no idea how he thinks some of this craziness up & I love every minute of it. I can’t wait to read the 3rd book. This is a great read but don’t take my word for it....READ IT!!
I'm usually not a fan of science fiction, but as a huge fan of J. A. Konrath slash Jack Kilborn, I gave this series a try. "Timecaster" was a quick fun read, filled with action, sex and a hilarious cameo from Harry McGlade III. "Timecaster Supersymmetry" was much the same, with ten times more action, sex and Harry McGlade III. Unfortunately, there were so many infinite worlds and characters it was hard to keep up at times, and with four Talon's (some good some evil), several Vicki's (mostly sex crazed), a few Sata's, a singing banana and a return performance from Jack and Phin was a little too much crammed into three hundred odd pages. But Kimball's books are fun, fast paced and thanks to Harry, completely hilarious. Brainless fun, looking forward to the trilogy finale, "Timecaster Steampunk."
I approached the book with decent expectations after following the author's blog for a while. I unfortunately left disappointed.
- The characters didn't have arcs. It may be that they didn't have time to develop given the timeframe this book covered, but I finished with the impression they'd make the same choices at the end of the book as they did at the beginning.
- There's what feels like logic or editing errors throughout, with names or owners of actions taken being switched. I needed to reread the bits that didn't seem right and they continued to seem like errors, which was frustrating.
- The author's insistence on inventing new slang and colloquialisms kept me in my head throughout the entire book instead of allowing me to fall into the story.
The last was the biggest disappointment for me. The implementation of the concocted jargon felt heavy-handed and was, for me, a barrier, and one I hope the author doesn't do with his books in general.
Reading Timecaster Supersymmetry was ultimately a frustrating effort and I'm afraid I'll not be looking for further novels from Konrath in the future.
In order to save a world, his wife, and clear his name, Avalon Ace Talon will now have to travel to other Earths, fighting not only alternate versions of himself, but traffic centipedes, chickulas, and zombies. Yes. Zombies.
Supersymmetry picks up hot on the heals of the first in the series and our Talon has chased Alter-Talon to another universe in order to stop his evil doppelganger and save his wife Vicki. This book is much like the first one (crazy alternate future, wild technology, colorful characters, hysterical dialogue) but it's more of it. Much, much, MUCH more of it. Which is both good...and bad.
Supersymmetry is a Physics term. Dark matter, parallel mirror dimensions, etc. You get the idea. How does that play into the story? Not only there alternate versions of Talon and Vikie and McGlade and Sata and Teague, but there are DARK alter versions of them as well. It's in the second section of the book where these 'dark alternates' are introduced. It makes the book a little crowded. With our world's counterparts and their alternates, and their dark alternates (you see where I'm going here), it sometimes gets hard to track who's doing what. Konrath breaks the book into chapters that call out who the POV characters are. Some are our Talon and some are ANOTHER Talon. Both speak in the first person (unlike the evil Alter Talon and Sata sections, which are all third person). The changes in the perspectives (especially since there are two Talon first person point of view narratives) does work for the most part though. But you'll have to be mindful of which Talon is called out at the beginning of each chapter in order to not be completely lost.
This sequel is even more outrageous than the first one (I highly enjoyed the first one) but at times it goes so over the top that it goes beyond quirky, which made the first one so entertaining, and goes in the direction of parody. Konrath inserts a lot of tongue in cheek humor in this one, both poking fun at himself as well as the type of book it is, but sometimes it's just a bit too much. As wild and funny as Timecasters was, the story was dark. The story here is dark as well, but it borders on slapstick at times. The first installment balanced the action/seriousness of the situation with the comedy much better.
Still, while it has its issues, it's a solid read with an overflowing amount of imagination, and has me wondering where he'll go with the final book in the trilogy.
I love when I'm reading a book that I look forward to getting back to. This was one such. I actually read the first book as part of a compilation and I enjoyed it so much I put the compilation on hold whilst I read the next in this series.
